Your Baby, Your Birth, Your Way.

Let’s talk about what that looks like for you and how to make it happen. Our work together doesn’t start when you go into labor - we begin preparations when you’re still pregnant. Doula work is not standardized. You may want comprehensive prenatal support, in-person birth support, and some postnatal sessions. Or you may just want a few private prenatal consultations to learn more and build your confidence for the birth you want. Or perhaps you feel like you have your birth down but it’s the “after” - life with a wonderful, overwhelming, brand new human - that is worrying you. Whatever it is, we can tailor it to suit what you need.

  • Write and Own Your Birth Map

You may not know how to write a birth plan. Or you’ve heard the phrase, “the birth plan went out the window” and are wondering what is the point. I will work with you and your partner (if applicable) on creating a birth map. With a birth map, we prepare for multiple routes your birth could go ahead of time. I will make sure you know what options are available to you and that your values for your birth are aligned with the choices you make. We’ll be a great team by the time you go into labor! And when that happens, you can just focus on your birth.

    Create Your Pregnancy Routine

Everyone wants a smooth birth, but not all know how to walk that talk. Preparation for the birth you want starts in pregnancy! Labor is as much a mental game as it is a physical one. In our prenatals, we will cover practices to prepare your mind and body, including Optimal Maternal Positioning techniques, that you can continue all the way into labor.

  • Comfortable & Confident Birth

I will help you put what we discussed during our prenatal consultations to action, transforming your place of birth into one of warmth and safety. Using my knowledge and experience, I can offer position changes, exercises and encouragement to facilitate your birth’s physiological progress. I support wherever you choose to labor and birth, whether it’s in the hospital or your own home, on land or in the water. As your doula, I work only for you and your partner, and strive to collaborate with the rest of your birth team to make sure you stay informed and that your voice is heard. I am always in your corner.

    Comfortable & Confident Birth Partner

It’s a common myth that doulas replace birth partners. If you are partnered, my role is to support your birth partner as well, in whatever role they want to play at birth. In my experience, many birth partners want to help but they don’t know how because it’s their first time. Partners I’ve supported are often relieved as I give reassurance and suggestions for what they can do to help laboring parents. I take a lot of pride in ensuring the labor and birth experience is empowering for both of you.

  • Ease into Your New Life

Your baby is here! Everything has changed, and I’m here to support your new family for the start of this immense yet heartwarming journey. I can debrief your birth with you, talk through emotional and physical recovery, share soothing techniques and answer your questions on baby care.

    Embrace Your Feeding Journey

However you choose to feed your baby (breast / chest / bottle / formula), I will support your decision without any judgment. I can help you establish healthy feeding practices and a good feeding relationship with your baby. If you’re unsure, I can discuss your options with you.
